Le Joueur de Pihpoh
The PIHPOH player is a hip hop piece based on the tale
“The Pied Piper from Hamelin' written by the Grimm brothers.
For his first creation as choreographer, Raymond Siopathis (DK-BEL Company)
focused mostly on the invaders of Hamelin 's village: the rats.
Rats are generally caricatured and described as dark and frenetic animals, attracted by a way of life without any moment of respite. Somehow, difference is the equivalent to weakness.
The weak falls under the assaults of the rigid mass, crushed with its ignorance. Any deviation is not permitted as righteousness and homogeneity prevail.
Who leads to anarchy? The codified mass: unbridled, unstoppable and soulless? Or the group that rejects and unleashes itself, animated by a surplus of emotions?
What kind of a rat are we?
