THE VALUES OF HIP-HOP
When hip-hop arrived in France, it first took root in youth and community centres in working-class neighbourhoods before gradually entering schools through a range of educational and artistic initiatives.
As a partner of the Hip-Hop programme at Lycée Jean-Jacques Rousseau in Sarcelles and Collège Montaigne in Goussainville, DK-BEL develops initiatives designed to pass on the founding values of this culture.
Hip-hop promotes self-improvement, respect for others, the sharing of knowledge, friendship, and living together. As a genuine space for learning, it also fosters solidarity, social connection, and self-expression.
Through its work in schools, DK-BEL seeks to promote the movement’s original values: “Peace, Love, Unity and Having Fun.”
This project is led by the artist PLAYMO, who is internationally recognised for his expertise and commitment to passing on Hip-Hop culture.
