    C'est BEAU !

          Creation 2024

For several years, the DK-BEL Company has been offering shows featuring dancers with and without disabilities. Often, the audience's feedback is simply: "It's beautiful...". We therefore wanted to explore this notion of beauty further, seeking to understand how it can simultaneously be a vehicle for personal, collective, and even universal emotion.

Carried out in 2023, the Erasmus+ project CBO – C’est Beau! gathered 26 young participants from France, Greece, and Austria in Bad Aussee, Austria – part of the Salzkammergut region, European Capital of Culture 2024. Half of the participants were young people with disabilities, and together they explored the theme of Beauty as a way to overcome cultural, linguistic, and social barriers.

CBO

Through workshops in dance, singing, video, and photography, the participants collaborated on performances, exhibitions, and a documentary, while also discovering Austrian culture through visits and shared meals. The project promoted art as a universal language, raised awareness of differences, and encouraged solidarity and empathy across borders.

The impact was profound: participants gained confidence, creativity, and open‑mindedness, while organisations strengthened their networks in inclusive arts. CBO demonstrated how art can transcend boundaries and inspire a Europe united by diversity and shared values.
