C'est BEAU !
Creation 2024
For several years, the DK-BEL Company has been offering shows featuring dancers with and without disabilities. Often, the audience's feedback is simply: "It's beautiful...". We therefore wanted to explore this notion of beauty further, seeking to understand how it can simultaneously be a vehicle for personal, collective, and even universal emotion.
Sophie Bulbulyan and Cécile Martinez decided to start from the notion of Beauty according to the poet Charles Baudelaire, which seems very close to our approach with some of our dancers with atypical bodies. Beauty for Baudelaire is linked to the bizarre, to strangeness, to chaos, to pain and the fragility of Beings.
The choreographic piece "It's Beautiful!" offers the world a particular, singular and sensitive vision of beauty, borrowing from all these notions, in symbiosis with the places crossed and their inhabitants...
